Does God Allow You Be Tested?

A friend sent me a question asking me does God allow us to be tested with circumstances which seem to go contrary to his promises....Here's how I replied,

My thoughts on that? Sure I agree God will allow the devil and difficult situations to arise to test you out in your faith. You see it various places in scripture. When God told Moses to go down to Egypt to set the people free they were all encouraged and then Moses did wonders before Pharaoh. A decree came from Pharaoh that the people (Israel) were to keep making bricks but now they had to go to the fields and get their own straw to do so and the people got discouraged (Exodus 5:6–9).

Another example Job and you know that story. Keep in mind with Job God didn't commission it he didn't say to the devil now come over here now I want you to do this, that or the other. In other words God allowed it but he did not commission it (Job 1:6–12).

Jesus even was made to face the test too after receiving the revelation at his baptism, and it was quite a spectacular event for it says the Spirit came down upon him like a dove and a voice was heard, "This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:16–17). The Bible says IMMEDIATELY he went out into the wilderness to the end result he was tempted by the devil (Mark 1:12–13). The devil was trying to get him off the revelation that he was the Son of God, and all his question were this, "If you are the Son of God.....do this or that or the other"

The devil apparently has the right to see if you're going to trust in the Lord with all your heart or lean on your own natural realm understanding or to flip out or fall apart and let go of your faith. Jesus even told us in the Sower Sows the word, after the word of God is preached....we could say the promises of God Satan comes immediately to try to steal that word out of your heart (Mark 4:14–15). He uses the cares of this world, the worries, the anxieties, the deceitfulness of riches and the lusts of other things.....

Will we choose however to stand in the liberty in which Christ has set us free and having done all to stand will we keep standing or will we start to cave in, give up and faint. Remember we talked about the G forces....or D forces that are allowed to bring pressure? Do we faint or pass out in our spiritual cockpit or do we hold fast, conquer and be an overcomer by holding fast, by confessing, declaring, and decreeing God's word with a spirit of joy and excitement?
