Seedtime Lessons For Flourishing Lives — Part 2

A Personal Story: Pictures Without Seeds

Years ago, I planted a small garden. I placed pictures of vegetables on sticks where seeds should have been planted—but forgot to plant the seeds themselves. Weeks later, nothing grew where only pictures stood. This funny but true story illustrates a crucial spiritual truth:

Having the appearance of faith isn’t enough. If you don’t actually plant God’s Word through meditation and declaration, no real fruit will grow in your life.

Biblical Foundations: Sowing and Reaping

Genesis 8:22 reminds us:

“Seedtime and harvest shall not cease.”

Galatians 6:7–8 warns:

“Be not deceived: God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap...”

Sow to the Spirit and reap life everlasting.

Hope for the Messed Up Life

If you’ve made mistakes or feel your life is a mess, take heart! Jesus longs to restore you. He gently invites you to step into His mercy and guidance. He says:

“I am meek and lowly of heart.”

Say it with me: Jesus loves me.

The Ultimate Seed: Death and Resurrection

John 12:24 says:

“Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces many seeds.”

To grow spiritually, we must let go of our old selves—die to the old identity—and be raised as new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Real Identity in Christ

We live in a world obsessed with identity—people say, “I identify as this or that.” But God isn’t interested in what you “identify with.” He’s interested in what He created you to be as a new creation in Christ. We must give up our old selves—our old seed—and let God plant a new life in us. The shell must come off. The Divine core must come forth.
